The pursuit of happiness

Life is a never ending set of experiences. Born in Sialkot, a city with relatively less population and popularity, I was not able to gain all the fancy experiences people from other cities bragged about in my childhood. But as I grew up and explored the world, the only conclusion I lead to was that nothing is equivalent to the hometown where you spend your childhood.

I am a person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to read, I like to write; I like to think, I like to dream; I like to talk, I like to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, I like to see the moonlight at night; I like to feel the music flowing on my face, I like to smell the wind after rain. I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind, I like to do thought experiment when I cannot sleep in the middle of the night. I like flowers in spring, rain in summer, leaves in autumn, and snow in winter. I like to sleep early, I like to get up late; I like to be alone, I like to be surrounded by people. The conclusion is that every aspect of life is beautiful in its own. For me, ‘the pursuit of happiness’ is the most ridiculous phrase, because if you pursue happiness, you will never actually find it.

I can split my entire life into different phases. From crying not to go to school, to living away from family for university, my life has been as ordinary as a brown paper bag yet very exciting at the same time. I did my Alevels from ‘the city school’ Sialkot and after eliminating 10s of options I ended up at the Lahore School of Economics. Living away from the family impacts a person’s life in a number of ways. It teaches you a list of things in which the worst one is instant noodles. Yet they are your only hope at times. In my opinion one should definitely experience the ‘hostel life’ once as it is one of the most impacting experiences of life. Apart from university life travelling has also been an important part of my. From the different places I have ever visited in my life I try to hold one memory for each place I visit to complete a book which just keep turning pages in my head. Venice has been one of my favourite visits and the atmosphere of the city just tells the reason of its popularity.

I have a purpose that I am fulfilling.
